18 Oct 1943 - SG 10 was formed at Berditschew from Stab./SKG 10 (Stab./SG 10), I./Sch.G 2 (I./SG 10), IV./SKG 10 (II./SG 10) and II./St.G 77 (III./SG 10).

II./SG10

9 Apr 1945 - II. Gruppe records 42 aircraft on strength with 15 serviceable and 39 aircrew with 27 available at flight ready status[1].

3 May 1945 - II. Gruppe located at Wels and are sub-ordinated to Luftwaffenkommando 4, 18.Flieger-Division[2] to provide air support for 6.SS-Panzer Armee and 8.Armee.

May 1945 - A number of 4. and 5. staffel Fw 190F-8/Pb., Fw 190F-9 and (probably) Fw 190D-9 aircraft appear to have been located at, or at least operating from, Zeltweg at this time, along with a similar number of I. Gruppe aircraft.

8 May 1945 - Aircraft of Stab.II. Gruppe and 6. Staffel fly to Neubiberg from Wels, with a large part of II./JG52, to surrender to US forces. Identified aircraft are:

Staffel Aircraft Type Code Wkr.No. Notes
Stab.II. Fw 190F-8 Grune <<+- 428 639 -
Stab.II. Fw 190F-9 Grune <o+- 440 401 -
6. Fw 190F-8/R1 Gelbe 1+- 58? ??? Arado built
6. Fw 190F-8/R1 Gelbe 2+- 586 875 Arado built, rudder in red primer paint
6. Fw 190F-8 Gelbe 10+-  ??? ??? -
6. Fw 190A-8 Gelbe 11+- 681 330 Fitted with F-type R1 wing, previous III. Gruppe code over-painted
6. Fw 190F-8 Gelbe 12+-  ??? ??? Previous code overpainted
6. Fw 190F-8 Gelbe 13+- 582 304 Previous code overpainted
6. Fw 190F-8 Gelbe 14+- 58? ??? Arado built

Identified aircraft remaining at Wels:

Staffel Aircraft Type Code Wkr.No. Notes
6. Fw 190F-8 Gelbe 7+-  ??? ?32 Previous 6. Staffel code (but not Gruppe bar) overpainted

While something of a supposition a Fw 190D-9 at Wels, WNr. 601 3?? fitted with an F-type R1 wing, may well have been on-strength with II. Gruppe or at least in their employ.
