General:4 km south of the city centre. Fliegerhorst and Luftpark.

History: 1927 Emergency Laning Field (Notlandeplatz). From 1936 it was a civilian aerodrome.

18 Jan 1944 – airfield closed as a result of enemy action.[1]

Dimensions: 1200m x 1200m

Runway: Grass with concrete apron.

Infrastructure: Main buildings concentrated on the north-west corner of the airfield. Five hangers of significant size plus a number of smaller aircraft shelters. Barrack blocks and workshops lie behind the hangers. Dispersal areas were to be found to the east of the landing ground.

Remarks: Codename “Parkplatz” Allied Code - Y97
